Il Santuario della beata Vergine Assunta affiancato a sinistra dalla sacrestia è situato sulla cima della Rocca di Monrupino, da qui si possono vedere le Alpi Giulie, il Golfo di Trieste, L'Istria, il Monte Nanos e la Valle del Vipacco. Le origini di questa Chiesa, datata 1512, sono legate a diverse leggende. Una di queste racconta che il diavolo e la Madonna lottarono tra loro per la costruzione della Chiesa, alla fine la battaglia venne vinta dalla Madonna. Le tracce di questa cacciata si possono ancora trovare su una pietra che ora si trova alla base della sacrestia, sulla quale il Diavolo lasciò la sua impronta.
