M	Mari Ube on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La piccola chiesa situata tra le mura del castello ha una grande storia e soprattutto antichissima. Era una chiesa importante, essendo Pieve dedicata a S. Maria e lo fu fino al XV secolo, quando il titolo di parrocchiale fu trasferito alla chiesa di San Michele (in centro paese). Appena varcata la porta carraia di accesso al castello-ricetto la si trova sulla sinistra. L'attuale facciata (posta a Nord) non è originale, infatti l'orientazione del tempio fu completamente variata rispetto alle origini e nella porzione N-O ha sede un'abitazione privata. In pratica la chiesetta occupa soltanto una ristretta porzione (quella orientale) del tempio primitivo; l'oratorio fu ricavato nel 1835 in stile neoclassico. Se si aggira l'abitazione civile a destra, si vedrà chiaramente la sagoma dell'antica facciata a capanna con il rosone e il portale di matrice longobarda (riportati alla luce in epoca recente). Sul lato est erano presenti tre absidi, che vengono indicate "facilmente riconoscibili" ma attualmente occultate dai teloni dei muratori che stanno ristrutturando la porta carraia. Segni di scavo archeologico esterni alla chiesa e nella piazzetta testimoniano importanti scoperte, illustrate nel pannello informativo: un'ampia area cimiteriale, che doveva estendersi ben oltre i limiti dell'attuale piazzetta, e numerose strutture murarie anteriori alla costruzione del castello. Maria and it was until the fifteenth century, when the title of parish was transferred to the church of San Michele (in the town center). As soon as you cross the driveway door to access the castle-shelter you will find it on the left. The current facade (located to the north) is not original, in fact the orientation of the temple was completely changed compared to the origins and in the N-O portion there is a private house. In practice, the church occupies only a small portion (the eastern one) of the primitive temple; the oratory was created in 1835 in neoclassical style. If you go around the residential house on the right, you will clearly see the shape of the ancient gabled façade with the rose window and the portal of Lombard origin (brought to light in recent times). On the east side there were three apses, which are indicated as "easily recognizable" but currently hidden by the canvases of the masons who are renovating the carriage door. Archaeological excavation signs outside the church and in the square testify to important discoveries, illustrated in the information panel: a large cemetery area, which must have extended well beyond the limits of the current square, and numerous wall structures prior to the construction of the castle.
