La devozione per i santi era diffusa e spesso i nomi di questi provenivano da luoghi come la Sicilia ed il regno dei Borboni dove l'emigrazione della gente del lago nel 1600 si era diffusa.
 Further evidence of the religiosity of the mountain people where churches and bell towers mark the profile of the hills wherever there is a town. The devotion to the saints was widespread and often the names of these came from places like Sicily and the kingdom of the Bourbons where the emigration of the people of the lake in 1600 had spread.
