La Madonna raffigurata è il più antico affresco ritrovato in campagna e è dal suo potere miracoloso di guarigione che prende il nome il quartiere sanità (tra i tanti motivi). Anche l'altare è una struttura spettacolare. Ma visitate le catacombe! Top The original chapel under the altar is worth seeing! The depicted Madonna is the oldest fresco found in the countryside and it is from its miraculous healing power that the health district takes its name (among many reasons). We went to this basilica to see the veiled son of Jago. Unique experience, fantastic work. The "room" in which it is located is also wonderful.

Ultima arrivata, "Il figlio velato" di Jago, artista moderno che, ispirandosi al Cristo Velato custodito al Museo Cappella Sansevero in altra zona di Napoli (da notare l'assonanza dei nomi che custodiscono le due sculture), rappresenta la tragedia nella tragedia dei flussi migratori verso l'Italia e l'Europa. Fatevi guidare dai giovani di una Onlus del posto. Quello che pagherete contribuirà a finanziare opere sociali a sostegno dei giovani (e quindi del futuro) del popolo di un quartiere ricchissimo di umanità, tradizioni, storia e passione. E non dimenticate, dopo tanta arte, un dolce fiocco di neve della nota pasticceria del posto oppure una pizza. Vi prometto che non ve ne pentirete! In tutto questo ho trovato questo luogo un faro nella notte, un ancora di speranza. Bellissimi gli interni nella loro poco appariscenti con una bellissima sorpresa al suo interno, la Cappella dei Bianchi, un vero tesoro artistico dove è custodito il Figlio Velato, un emozione agli occhi. Little known church located in a district of the city of Naples famous for its decay. In all this I found this place a beacon in the night, an anchor of hope. I	Ilaria Orlandini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'attuale chiesa, costruita nel XVII secolo per volontà dell'arcivescovo Mario Carafa, sorge su una preesistente basilica paleocristiana con annesse catacombe (non visitabili). Dopo decenni di abbandono, nel 2017 è stata riportata al suo splendore, diventando uno dei più importanti centri di aggregazione del Rione. Attualmente è la sede dell'orchestra Sanitansamble e di uno studio di registrazione. Noi l'abbiamo visitata con il tour 'Il Miglio Sacro' realizzato dalla cooperativa La Paranza, che raccoglie i ragazzi del quartiere e che consente un giro di un'intera mattinata al rione sanità (fatelo, Ve lo consiglio). All'esterno, in facciata, c'è un murales con i colori delle 7 note musicali. Bellissima la cappella dei Bianchi, con opere di Giordano e Vaccaro. Un tripudio di tele e affreschi seicenteschi! Attualmente ospita la scultura Il Figlio Velato di Iago, ispirata al celebre Cristo Velato di Sammartino nella cappella Sanseverino, ma probabilmente da interpretare alla luce dei tanti bambini annegati in mare nel tentativo di raggiungere l'Italia. Molto toccante! The current church, built in the seventeenth century by the will of Archbishop Mario Carafa, stands on a pre-existing paleochristian basilica with attached catacombs (not open to visitors). After decades of neglect, in 2017 it was restored to its splendor, becoming one of the most important aggregation centers of the district. It is currently the home of the Sanitansamble orchestra and a recording studio. We visited it with the tour 'The Sacred Mile' created by the La Paranza cooperative, which gathers the children of the neighborhood and which allows a whole morning tour of the health district (do it, I recommend it). Outside, on the facade, there is a mural with the colors of the 7 musical notes. The chapel of the Whites is beautiful, with works by Giordano and Vaccaro. A riot of seventeenth-century paintings and frescoes! It currently houses the sculpture The Veiled Son of Iago, inspired by the famous Veiled Christ by Sammartino in the Sanseverino chapel, but probably to be interpreted in the light of the many children drowned in the sea in an attempt to reach Italy. Very touching!
