The basilica is very beautiful, especially the suspended Christ: it takes your breath away! The fabulous nativity scene displayed in the sacristy is absolutely worth seeing.

The square near where Via Sanità is located is Via Teresa degli Scalzi, in the Sanità district. They also call it the church of San Vicenç de la Sanità because there is an icon of the Valencian Sant Vicenç Ferrer, who in Naples is known as O'Monacone (the great monk)

E non cosa da poco, ingresso per le catacombe di San Gaudioso! Known more as the church of San Vincenzo, it is very interesting to visit both for the particular Altar with the double staircase. Questa basilica raccoglie tantissime epoche e i segni indelebili sono tutti ben visibili. L'interno è un viaggio nella storia e nell'arte, il tutto è stato un racconto meraviglioso, illustrato alla perfezione da Fabrizio, guida locale delle catacombe di San Gennaro. Stage of the "Miglio Sacro" Tour, which I recommend everyone to do, you cannot visit Naples without having done this spectacular route. This basilica collects many eras and the indelible signs are all clearly visible. I	Ilaria Orlandini on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situata nel cuore del Rione Sanità, tra i giganteschi murales RESIS-TI-AMO dell'argentino Bosoletti e LUCE dello spagnolo Tono Cruz, questa grandiosa basilica troneggia con le sue forme barocche e la sua cupola maiolicata sulla trafficata piazzetta antistante. Noi l'abbiamo visitata con un tour 'il Miglio Sacro' realizzato da un'associazione dei ragazzi di quartiere (consigliatissimo). Questa chiesa domenicana è popolarmente conosciuta come San Vincenzo o il Monacone, a causa della grande statua di San Francesco Ferrer contenuta al suo interno. Splendido l'altare barocco con doppia scala. Si tratta di un altare 'ascendente' che metaforicamente conduce il fedele dalla cripta sottostante (deliziosa) alle statue dei guardiani del paradiso, Pietro e Paolo, alla Madonna con bambino in marmo fino ad arrivare alla cupola affrescata con Dio padre. Molto particolare il chiostro ellittico, un unicum, al cui centro è piantato uno dei piloni del Ponte Sanità. Vera chicca della chiesa è il Presepe Favoloso realizzato nel 2020 dai fratelli Scuotto, famosi presepisti napoletani. Io l'ho trovato emozionante: vi sono raccolte tutte le figure della tradizione napoletana, ma che personaggi o situazioni insoliti e leggendari. Sulla destra c'è anche un Maradona bambino che palleggia con un'arancia. Assolutamente da visitare! Located in the heart of the Rione Sanità, between the gigantic RESIS-TI-AMO murals by the Argentine Bosoletti and LUCE by the Spanish Tono Cruz, this grandiose basilica dominates with its baroque forms and its majolica dome on the busy square in front. We visited it with a tour 'the Sacred Mile' carried out by an association of neighborhood kids (highly recommended). This Dominican church is popularly known as San Vincenzo or the Monacone, due to the large statue of San Francesco Ferrer contained within it. The baroque altar with a double staircase is splendid. It is an 'ascending' altar that metaphorically leads the faithful from the crypt below (delightful) to the statues of the guardians of heaven, Peter and Paul, to the Madonna with child in marble up to the frescoed dome with God the Father. The elliptical cloister is very particular, a unicum, in the center of which one of the pylons of the Sanità Bridge is planted. The real gem of the church is the Fabulous Nativity scene made in 2020 by the Scuotto brothers, famous Neapolitan nativity scenes. I found it exciting: it contains all the figures of the Neapolitan tradition, but unusual and legendary characters or situations. On the right there is also a child Maradona dribbling with an orange. A must visit!
