Suggestivo il ponte san Rocco appoggiato ad uno romano molto più antico.
Qua e là ritrovamenti di sarcofagi romani con le iscrizioni a ricordo dei defunti.
Vie larghe e tante ville di delizie con parchi.
Merita una giornata.
 Quiet Lombard town with an important load of remote history.
The San Rocco bridge leaning against a much older Roman one is suggestive.
Here and there finds of Roman sarcophagi with inscriptions in memory of the dead.
Wide streets and many villas of delights with parks.
It deserves a day.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forse il monumento più amato e più conosciuto dai Vimercatesi. Conservato in buone condizioni su arcate romane e successive porte medievali.
Una porta d'ingresso dalla storia...ad oggi.
Perhaps the most loved and best known monument by the Vimercatesi. Preserved in good condition on Roman arches and later medieval doors.
A gateway from history ... to today.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ponte storico di Vimercate risalente al 3° secolo D.C: a 6 campate di cui una interrata per motivi di robustezza del ponte. Nonché Porta di Moriano, l'unica delle tre ancora esistente. Sopra ci sono feritoie dove i soldati difendevano l'accesso alla città.
Historic bridge of Vimercate dating back to the 3rd century AD: with 6 spans, one of which is underground for reasons of strength of the bridge. As well as Porta di Moriano, the only one of the three still existing. Above are loopholes where soldiers defended access to the city.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il ponte simbolo di Vimercate
Sono stato su questo ponte in occasione di un raduno bandistico organizzato dal Civico Corpo musicale di Vimercate. Il ponte è in pietra e ha le paratie un po' basse. Il passaggio è carrabile quindi quando si attraversa bisogna stare attenti alle automobili. Il torrente sottostante è popolato da anatre. Si tratta di uno dei luoghi storici della città.

I was on this bridge during a band meeting organized by the Civic Musical Body of Vimercate. The bridge is made of stone and has somewhat low bulkheads. The passage is driveway so when crossing you have to be careful of cars. The stream below is populated by ducks. It is one of the historical places in the city.
