β β β β β Some dishes are amazing, others miss the mark completely. Also, service can be completely, totally and utterly PAINFULLY slow. The closer you get to dessert, the longer things take. Which is really too bad, because dessert is one of their strong suits.
Our first night here, we had a party of 15. Everything was served family style and required no one to look at a menu (except for drinks).
The meat and cheese board was huge! Plenty of selections! Our table was particularly smitten with the little squares of fried dough to dip in honey.
I enjoyed the arancini. I found it to be more flavorful than you find at a lot of places. But the caprese Salad is what blew me away! The mozzarella was the softest, creamiest, most delicious I've ever had! I could eat that every day.
For me, both of the pastas were disappointing. Maybe because expectations are particularly high when you're in Italy? One was seafood ravioli - very popular at our table. The other had red sauce, parm crips and pistachios. I absolutely loved their red sauce!! But there was so little of the sauce and so much of the thick noodle. I can say that the noodle was cooked al dente and nicely salted.
Lastly, we all shared a plate of desserts. The hazelnut brownie and tiramisu were definitely my favorites! But everything was really quite impressive. Even the desserts/flavors I wouldn't normally go for were all divine!
The next night was more casual. I went for the caprese Salad again. And for my main, hubby and I shared lamb and gnocchi. Both were underwhelming - not a lot of flavor, not a lot of anything going on.
This time, we ended with gelato. My husbands pistachio was by far the best I've ever had!! And my scoop of chocolate was very, very rich (think 75% dark chocolate).
The prices are high, some dishes are misses and things can be slow. But the staff is very friendly and some of the food is incredible!!

β β β β β Lovely restaurant on the roof of the JW Marriott located on a private island, 20 minutes from Venice.
The view from the restaurant were incredible - highly recommend coming here at sunset and dine in the backdrop of the sun setting over the water and the city of Venice visible in twilight.
Service was great and the food was very good as well.

β β β β β Outrageous prices. Two chicken wraps, one water and one ginger ale was 65 euros. They charge you 7 euro for table setup! And I was a guest at the hotel. When you come in one the hotel water shuttle they have a lady doing sales pressure to get you to immediately make a reservation at their fancy one Michelin star restaurant and then down sells you to the Sagra. Will never eat there again

β β β β β It was perfect. Very nice to enjoy our own rooftop view and private island with 5 stat staff. The prices are not more than most restaurants in Venice, except you receive large portions and can walk back to your room.

β β β β β The view is probably one of best I've ever seen! Friendly staff, warm pool with seat bubblers, all while over looking Venice?!? Who could ask for more?? Food is average, but if it wasn't, I'd sell everything and spend all my time there. This is a must if in the area!

β β β β β The Sagra restaurant had exceptional service (thank you Petra) and the food was delicious. I've been going around Europe for a few weeks and can say with certainty that this is the best good I've had.
There is a free water taxi service connecting Venice with the private island of the JW Marriott. The restaurant was very quiet and a nice break from the hustle of Venice.
Prices are as expected of any JW Marriott resort but worth every penny.

β β β β β Delicious cutting edge Italian cuisine is to be had here at Sagra. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is super friendly and very professional. We had the pesto gnocchi and scallop ravioli and all we can say is wow! The gelato desserts were a great ending to a wonderful meal. We hope to come back and visit.
