Part of the older portion of the basilica still stands to the side of the main building, which has been built expertly into the rock face. This was one of the most constantly amazing parts of the basilica. The architecture is breathtaking, as are the views. A beautiful place to visit, for the non-religious as well as believers. Don't miss it.

If you have a clear sky you'll be able to see the mountains and the valley around. The place is pretty nice, a piece of history and architecture. Nearby there is a small coffee shop where you can eat or drink something.
