It is unlikely to find an ancient (in ruins) Gothic style church lost (but not really) in the southern Tolfetan hills overlooking the. sea

The village and the church are part of the so-called Ring which also includes the ruins of the ancient Cencelle or Leooli, built by Pope Leo IV. The La Fatnesiana village was built by Pope Paul II Farnese and was active between the 16th and 18th centuries, after the discovery of the big toe in this sector of the Lazio Maremma. The village was built around a mill, an oven and a medieval tower between the Monto della Rolfa and the Mignone valley, its natural borders. A memory dedicated to S. Severa must have been built inside the village. The imposing church dedicated to S. Maria Immacolata was built when a group of Roman Jesuits moved there when the property was transferred from the Fatnesr to the Monte di Pietà in Rome. The walk to the village is very pleasant and suggestive.
