★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Questa piccola e graziosa chiesa sorge ad angolo tra la omonima strada e via Gelso, un tempo detta “strada majore de la città”.
La sua costruzione ebbe inizio nel giugno del 1302 con posa della prima pietra da parte del vescovo Giovanni II da Venezia, e fu terminata nel 1305 dal presbitero Petracco di Pavone, ai tempi del nuovo vescovo Giovanni III da Trani. Nel 1715 il vescovo Chiurlia la restaurò e la arricchì, fra l’altro, di alcune reliquie del Santo martire. Nell’ 800 fu adibita a scuola serotina. Dopo essere stata abbandonata per un certo periodo, nel 1846 fu restaurata dall’arcidiacono Giuseppe Sagarriga, che in tal modo ne acquisì diritto di patronato. La chiesetta, ad aula unica, ha un solo altare barocco, con una pala raffigurante il martirio di San Lorenzo. Accanto è custodita l’effigie di Santa Maria delle Grazie, protettrice degli artigiani e dei marinai. All’esterno, una snella facciata, conclusa da un piccolo campanile a vela, racchiude un bassorilievo raffigurante il martirio del Santo e Petravio Pavone in paramenti sacerdotali.
 This small and graceful church stands at the corner of the street of the same name and Via Gelso, once called "Strada Majore de la Città".
Its construction began in June 1302 with the laying of the foundation stone by Bishop John II of Venice, and was finished in 1305 by the presbyter Petracco di Pavone, at the time of the new bishop Giovanni III da Trani. In 1715 the bishop Chiurlia restored it and enriched it, among other things, with some relics of the Holy martyr. In the 1800s it was used as a serotine school. After being abandoned for a certain period, in 1846 it was restored by the archdeacon Giuseppe Sagarriga, who thus acquired the right of patronage. The church, with a single hall, has only one baroque altar, with an altarpiece depicting the martyrdom of San Lorenzo. Next to it is the effigy of Santa Maria delle Grazie, protector of artisans and sailors. Outside, a slender façade, concluded by a small bell tower, contains a bas-relief depicting the martyrdom of the Saint and Petravio Pavone in priestly vestments.
