Very nice to take a walk up here. Unfortunately the fortress cannot be visited but the neighboring very beautiful church is.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bel castello da cui parte un sentiero che passa dalla chiesetta degli alpini fino su alla croce di scurcola. Il sentiero e' ripido con qualche gradino. Consigliate scarpe alte. Bella vista sulla valle.
Beautiful castle from which a path starts that passes from the small church of the Alpini up to the cross of scurcola. The path is steep with some steps. High shoes recommended. Nice view over the valley.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rocca oggetto di annoso ed imponente lavoro di ristrutturazione, a tutt’oggi chiusa ma che finalmente potrà salire alla ribalta in virtù dell’importante cantiere che sta per partire. Sarà presto fruibile al pubblico!
Vale la pena in ogni caso visitare il luogo, per il borgo di Scurcola ma anche per la possibilità di immergersi nella natura attraverso i numerosi cammini e/o sentieri che la interrssano.
Dalla Rocca Orsini in particolare parte il Sentiero del Grifone, che unisce Scurcola a Celano passando per Magliano dei Marsi, Rosciolo dei Marsi, Forme di Massa d’Albe e Ovindoli. Suggestivo!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fortificazione imponente ma non tenuta benissimo, pericoloso stare sotto le torri. Questo castello andrebbe valorizzato, purtroppo non è visitabile.
