E	Egor Saltykov on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Marvelous place! It's recommended to have proper shoes and some adequate dress because it's windy and cold in the tunnels. And dark! Hence, a torch is a must-have. Some water, snack and a helmet may be a good idea, too.
K	Koen Martens on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely beautiful to hike here. Both the historical impact and the hike itself with its tunnels is incredible to see. It does take all together at least 5-6 hours to go to the top and back, without much of drinking/toilets present (only something at the top), so be prepared.

The design of some of the 52 tunnels is incredible including bends, spirals and slopes to cut through the rock to the next suitable place for a path. Allow about 2.5 to 3 hours to travel to Rifugio General A Papa and be prepared for more than 700m of ascent. At the refuge you can cross over to the other side of the ridge and return to the carpark at Xomo on a rough road. There are footpaths that cut the corners on the road if you want to shorten the return journey, but most of these are quite steep so there is a trade off. Returning to the start of the tunnel path on the road takes around 2 hours. The outward journey is on the south side of the peaks and can be in full sun, but the tunnels give respite. The return journey on the road is in shade and can be quite cool depending on the time of year. The story behind the path is even more impressive and information boards along the way give an insight into the work that went into the building of the path and the lives of the people that fought there. Go properly prepared with water, snacks and extra clothing and you'll have a fabulous day out with stunning views from the very tops of the mountains. An outstanding experience.
R	Ron Smith on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hike. My son and I make it up in 2 hours and 40 minutes. You definitely need some kind of light in a few of the tunnels. Inside some of the tunnels it was wet and a little slippery. The day we went up it was cloudy at the top so we didn't get to see the views from there. Up until the cloud level we had great views and of course the historical nature of the road makes it that much more interesting. We went back on the Via degli Scarubbi. That took us 1:30 hours. When you make it to the switchbacks, look for small signs marking smaller trails. That shaved a lot of time, but they are a good bit steeper.

S	Scott Hamilton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cool. Needs some fitness and good comfy sturdy boots but if you take your time you'll make it. Bring 6 Euro in coins to pay for parking ticket. Yes, it is absurd but I saw a Carabiniere driving out of there so they do check.
R	Rod on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fun hike. You should definitely bring a headlamp because some tunnels are dark. Recommend you go after springtime/April to avoid the snow and ice that can accumulate on paths or in the tunnels.
