At the time of our visit the Vespasia had 1 star from the Michelin guide. Simply outstanding service and food and wine. In my opinion they seriously deserve a second star by the Michelin guide.

City of Norcia has been badly affected by 2016 earthquake, but still remains beautiful and worth seeing and surrounding mountains worth hiking. Hotel and restaurant is located in a heart of Norcia, it's elegant, but still nice and cozy with charming small back garden with a lookout on surrounding fields and hills. Service was very hospitable and friendly. Food was perfectly balanced, made from local, fresh products with Japanese touch of Chef Fumiko Sakai. Very long list of vines, but you can put your self in the hands of Laura - sommelier and she will navigate you safely and find a way to make all party satisfied. As for Michelin star restaurant it has suprisingly homely feeling.
