★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Italian seafood pasta dish. Take a walk off the beaten path of Venice and find yourself in the Jewish ghetto for some truly authentic, delicious, Italian seafood and excellent service. Best food I've ever had in Venezia.

Having enjoyed a few slices whilst wondering around in the day we decided to have a pizza dinner one night.
Situated in the Ghetto section/Jewish district Al Faro is an unassuming restaurant with seating located in a small Venetian square.
Reading some of the reviews, to say it's the best pizza in Venice is quite a stretch, maybe of you have only been to the open fronted pre-made pizza takeaways.... the pizza was delicious, but then every pizza we tried in venice was a great pizza. It's a quieter section of Venice so it was a nice and enjoyable evening meal, a litre of house wine is reasonable at €15. We booked through TripAdvisor and got 30% off food and drink so 2 pizzas, a bottle of water and a litre of wine was €32. Where ever you ate in Venice I'd encourage you to head off the beaten track to find a place to eat, the price difference is massive!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is something someone or everyone wonders how waiters combine their invoices that looks higher than the prices in the menu list. It just might happen that asking you each time why won't you order some drink etc. It might look anoying but it does the magic. The bill gets higher than the food you ordered. Food is simple and plain. On the dough there is to much of cheese for my taste and it is not just mozarella.

It took them over 30 minutes to get our order, water and 2 pizza's. We then waited for another hour and no food yet, despite us asking a couple of times. Promises like "it'll be there in a few minutes" obviously weren't met, even though they were able to serve 3 tables that arrived later before us, with similar or larger orders. Two locals got their pizzas within ten minutes, so staffing was not the issue. After 1h45m we figured they didn't want us as customers so we got some food at one of the pizza shops just north of there. Don't go here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We wanted to eat here and got a table. The reviews seemed good. We were 4 persons and we waited for a while (~15 minutes) to get our menus. I had to go get them as no one was bringing them even though they knew we were there. We decided and tried to get someone to take our order (for another 15 minutes let's say). In the end I went and asked if someone could get our order but the reply i got was: "I can't handle everything at once. If you want to stay, you wait, if not you can leave.". That after waiting for about 30 minutes already. Maybe the food is good, but the attitude is something that really needs to improve. Maybe we caught them on a really bad day, but that's still no excuse.
As it can be seen, I don't write bad reviews but this experience was quite a no no.
