★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Buon locale, posizionato in centro, ristorante e pizzeria. Sala a chiuso non molto ampia ma adeguata. Personale gentile e accogliente. Servizi igienici piccoli e sacrificati adeguatamente puliti Menù vario della cucina locale senza strafare. Per quanto riguarda i secondi tutti con polenta che, considerata le buone porzioni servite consigliano a più di scegliere un solo piatto al massimo aggiungendo l'antipasto di affettati (buono). Prezzo onesto, mediamente e indicativamente, ca.25 euro (alto) considerando antipasto, il piatto singolo 1 o 2, dolce. caffè e bevande incluse.
Good place, located in the center, restaurant and pizzeria. Closed room not very large but adequate. Friendly and welcoming staff. Small and adequately cleaned toilets. Varied menu of local cuisine without overdoing it. As for the main courses, all with polenta which, considering the good portions served, recommend that more people choose a single dish at the most by adding the appetizer of cold cuts (good). Honest price, on average and indicatively, about 25 euros (high) considering appetizer, single dish 1 or 2, dessert. coffee and drinks included.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il posto è molto caratteristico Santa Maria Maggiore, in valle Vigezzo, il ristorante è difronte alla chiesa del paese in stile montagna, si mangia discretamente, il prezzi sono come tutti i posti di villeggiatura.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ci trovavamo nei dintorni di Santa Maria maggiore e ci siamo fermati casualmente in questo ristorante sito nel centro del paese.
Il menù sembrava invitante, ma quando ci sono arrivati i piatti ci siamo totalmente ricreduti: prima di tutto le quantità dei primi piatti erano davvero esagerate, infatti non siamo riusciti a terminare il piatto; per mantecare il risotto con la salsiccia ed il vino rosso è stata utilizzata una quantità abnorme di formaggio coprendo totalmente il gusto degli ingredienti principali.
Il distanziamento all’interno del locale non è rispettato, ci siamo ritrovati attaccati ad un altro tavolo vicino a noi.
Infine, il personale non è preparato sull’utilizzo degli ingredienti in cucina: ho un’allegria agli arachidi e alla domanda “che olio usate per friggere i gnocchi fritti?” mi è stato risposto “lo stesso olio che usiamo per friggere le patatine fritte”.
We were in the surroundings of Santa Maria Maggiore and we stopped by chance at this restaurant located in the center of the town.
The menu seemed inviting, but when the dishes arrived we totally changed our mind: first of all the quantities of the first courses were really exaggerated, in fact we were unable to finish the dish; an abnormal quantity of cheese was used to mix the risotto with sausage and red wine, totally covering the taste of the main ingredients.
The spacing inside the room is not respected, we found ourselves attached to another table next to us.
Finally, the staff is not trained in the use of ingredients in the kitchen: I am happy with peanuts and when asked "what oil do you use to fry fried gnocchi?" I was told "the same oil we use to fry french fries".

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situato in pieno centro paese in zona pedonale vicino alla chiesa, al museo dello spazzacamino e alla casa del profumo con grande parcheggio pubblico gratuito poco distante.
Il servizio è cortese ma al quanto anonimo così come i piatti serviti e anche la pizza. Prezzi medi.
Annesso piccolo negozio con vendita prodotti gastronomici e non ma tutto abbastanza caro.
Located in the center of the village in the pedestrian area near the church, the chimney sweep museum and the perfume house with large free public parking not far away.
The service is courteous but anonymous as well as the dishes served and even the pizza. Average prices.
Small shop with gastronomic products and not, but all quite expensive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor Service. Not focused (at least to serve us tourists with hungry children) while using all the time to prioritise the locals. Food.... Tjjja.... Bottom line: go next door.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don't like writing bad reviews, so I'll just say that the selection of beers can use improvements both in variety and quality for a start; the food we had tasted decent, but the deer I had didn't quite come off the bone as one would expect, which leads me to believe the meet wasn't slow cooked or pre-boiled, but just treated in wine and then cooked straight up. It still tasted nice though. Service was weird, unlike so many Restaurants in Italy it would appear Locarno doesn't believe in bringing bread to the table. Waiting also could have used some 'winding down', but I'm blaming it on young age. Did not try teir pizzas, which looked nice.
Location is very nice, and close to bars and a huge parking lot, with but a few improvements this could turn into a proper money maker.
