Thanks to Judy and her loving and accommodating team, we had a really special evening. Seldom have I experienced such a great service. From the food, to the wine, to the ambience, everything was perfect. There is really nothing to complain about, nothing at all. The dinner was like an evening at friends, with great conversation with Judy and her team. The food came exclusively from the immediate surroundings. A wonderfully matching wine is served with every dish. On top of that there is a story about the ingredients used - where they come from, who makes them and how they are processed. Fantastic. Perfect.

Wonderful small restaurant in Sant'Ambrogio Valpolicella. Amazing 7-8 course meal, and very friendly staff. Recommended by Michelin. You should reserve table in advance. We will come back again.

Sometimes without even expecting it, exciting and surprising things happen. That was the dinner we had yesterday and the acquaintance with Judy. When we entered @grotodecorgnan we actually entered into a fascinating, exciting and inspiring life story. Judy is a professional, attentive, pleasant and full of love to food, wine and hosting. All the wonderful food on our table at a fine tasting meal consisted of products purchased from Judy's friends, neighbors, and colleague, So that every vegetable, a slot of cheese or jam has its own story. Thanks Judy for a magical evening. We'll be back soon.

I recently had the unique pleasure of spending an evening at Groto De Corgnan while on holiday in Italy. The set 8 course seasonal menu (best to have a light lunch prior) is based mostly on what Chef Giorgio and staff have gathered from the local area over the past few days and then prepared at the restaurant the same day as your booking, so it’s definitely wise to book in advance. All of this is explained in your choice of either Italian or English and served in wonderful fashion by Giorgio, Judy and Eliza. There were 3 antipasto courses, a couple of pasta dishes - with black truffles in generous quantities, a choice of four main courses including Guinea fowl and steak, then local cheeses, and a dessert comprised of three different types of ice cream covered in honey roasted chestnuts. There is even handpicked wine for every course and I’ve personally taken a couple of bottles home from Italy based on what I drank at Groto. It’s clear to see all the love in every dish that was presented and the staff were always helpful & friendly which combined to make the whole evening feel very personal. A highly recommended experience for anyone who loves food & wine. Update: Made a point of revisting this wonderful restaurant just last week when we were once again in Italy and if anything it's even better than our first visit two years ago. Portion sizes are a little more balanced and the presentation of each course has markedly improved. Still great value for money given it's eight courses with matched wine and grappa to finish. If you're in the area you really should add this experience to your "must do" list.

A local gem! Fantastic and personal service. I did not realise before I was there that the tasting menu is the only option. But that is what makes this place so special, it is a whole evening experience where Judy (the owner of the restaurant) walks you through a culinary journey. The food is good - not on michelin star level (yet), but it is clear that the kitchen is serious and constantly progressing. I liked that everything is locally produced. We had a wine pairing menu for a very reasonable price. Our table was outside in the courtyard under the wines - couldn’t have asked for a more magic setting. I can highly recommend this place.

We had the most amazing meal experience of our lives here! From the start, our server Besa welcomed us with kindness and warmth and made us feel right at home. Judy came to introduce herself to us and explain each course which made for such a unique and intimate experience. Each course was delicious and so perfectly paired with the wine. We learned so much about local cuisine while simultaneously enjoying the flavors. We will remember this experience for a long while and hope to return again someday!

This is about a perfect day in valpolicella, ending in Groto De Corgnan a perfect day in valpolicella consist of three main thing visiting wineries, lunch at enoteca della valpolicella and dinner at groto de corgnan. walking and tasting wines from the region. don't drink too much amarone, you will not make it to your next destination. After tasting wines from this region, hop on over to Enoteca della valpolicella for lunch (if you do not have reservation, have the winery call ahead), if not you will miss out on the delicious home cook meal. after a nice lunch either take a nap, like most European cities. and then venture out to to nearby places, lake gardo or the Verona City centre. walking of the deliciousness meal and napping. you will enter another heavenly meal for the tummy at Groto De Corgnan. it's 20:00/08:00 pm Groto just open for dinner. no bias, you are welcome with open arms if you have reservation. sorry people no reservation no dinner for you. just like enoteca della valpolicella, theirs no menu. Everything is picked from the field and prepared that morning, hence farm to table. your welcome starter is fresh farm egg with shaved truffles. delicious memories to come. everything after it's memorizing. the detail from the the tasting course of the pasta. the way they serve the wine is for enjoyment. you feel like at home with family. for the main course i chose the sliced rare Chateaubriand topped off with fresh shaved black truffles on a bed of spinach. simple preparation equals to great tasting. this year visiting my favorite places to eat in valpolicella is an eye opener with simple food simple cooking. with enoteca della valpolicella, fresh tomato soup top of with the innards of a burrata and groto with the sliced Chateaubriand topped with fresh Black truffles, perfect seasoned. you will go home happy and wanting more. each year I think my opinion you will be surprised with what's in season that will bring yumminess to your salvation.
