β β β β β We were 2 people having lunch here. The entrance & interior is very nice old fashion decorated. We were welcomed at 1. floor by one of the waiters. We decided for the 8 course power menu & 3 bottles of wine. The wines were chosen by ourselves, but the sommelier was ready with her assistence. All courses were made with high quality ingrediens and we liked most of them. The winecard is big and contains older vintages and a big french selection. Prices on both food & wine is very fair. The service is very good. 5* and my recommendation?

β β β β β The restaurant misplaced our reservation because someone forgot to notate it on the reservation book (we had an email confirming our reservation), they improvised a table for us. After we set down it took almost 30min to receive a menu even after we've asked for it twice to two different waiters. The appetizer arrived almost 40 min later. It took almost one hour and the half to receive our main course. The main course arrived without most of the ingredients (it was a carbonare di mare missing most of the seafood described to us) and it was at room temperature. One of the main course it was uneatable ( risotto di mare very salty). We tried to complained but Francesco (chef) explanation, actually it sounded more like a defense, that the carbonare was supposed to be at room temperature and that the missing seafood was actually in the plate (there were no calamari, no fish, no clams but we did find half of a squid ring, 1 shrimp and several caviar eggs red and black) and that if we didn't like the risotto (in a aggressive way) he could change it. It was horrible the way the "owner chef" Francesco handled the grievance. Francesco was definitely out of line, or just plain rude. Our party decided not to eat the risotto. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the food, with the restaurant, with the chef and the service. By-the-way, others in the restaurant also expressed unhappiness of the service and the food. Our room had about 6 tables and ALL waited hours for the meals. This restaurant is definitely over rated, the lunch at a local osteria was much better and did not have a star. We were supposed to go back 2 weeks later with other friends, but we canceled our reservation. It was not worth it.

β β β β β Amazing bread
We went to da Francesco as it was in our "want to do list" since a long time.
The palace is truly amazing but.. We seated and we waited licterally too much. We ordered the "power menu" (means 6 plates decided by the chef). The wine arrived after half an hour we ordered it. Then, after one hour of waiting we started eating the bread and the "grissini" we had at our table in order to fill our empty stomachs. This should not happen in a starred restaurant. For any reason...
We arrived in the restaurant at 20:30 and at 00:30 (after 4 hours!) we decided to interrupt the experience and we did not take the dessert.
Beside the incredibly long waiting and the fact we ate bread all the time as we were starving, many things happened in the meantime..
There were flies that continually ended up in the dishes and in the wine (I must say at least they were kind by not charging us for a bottle in which a fly kept ending up), the rice too salty, the decidedly stringy Iberian cerdo that forced us to advance it ( I have never advanced anything in anyone starry), there was one waiter only for a full restaurant that could not obviously undertake our needs, there was a group of people sitting next to us that were continuously going into the kitchen with rude manners...
And i must say to finish this great description, the waiter (the only waiter) did not wear any facemask the whole time in the midde of such a moment...
Please read my previous review...I am not a complainer...this is really a disastrous experience

β β β β β Wonderful location, a prepared staff for a special Sunday lunch.
Meal are perfectly executed by Chef Francesco who came to our table for some nice talk at the end of the lunch.
I would recommend you to go there to see the amazing baroque location of the restaurant and to enjoy a walk in Cherasco.
