★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owner is an ignorant racist. I went into the store to buy some shoe laces and made some cheerful small talk, in Italian, with the young assistant. My father was with me. He is English and at 80 he now finds it easier to communicate with me in English rather than Italian. He insisted with me on paying for the laces for a few seconds (In English). As I was about to pay while chatting in Italian, the owner attacked us saying that in his store we must always speak Italian. I tried to explain that my father is old and unwell but he insisted and said that that was his house and we should speak Italian. I was flabbergasted. We left and, of course, we will never go back.
