T	Tony Baker on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent. We stayed two nights and spent two days climbing Ferrata at the back on Ponza Grande and on Mangart. A long drive back to Imola, but well worth the trip from Edinburgh
S	Silke S. on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived with high expectations but were utterly disappointed. The dorm with 10 beds costs 29 Euro per person. Way too much for no comfort (you've got to bring your own sleeping liner and towels) and just two bathrooms for at least 30 people. Moreover it was incredibly hot inside even with one small window open. The other window couldn't even be opened fully. The food wasn't a highlight either. The pasta with tomatoe sauce and basil had just a hint of tomatoe sauce and one single leaf of basil. It's not a good choice for hikers because there are many tourists there that make a lot of noise until late into the night.
N	Nick Boardman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food at altitude. Local specialities and a wide selection of other dishes on offer, as well as a good selection of drinks, all priced reasonably. Whether you ride up the road/path or hike up the rugged walking path, the views are beautiful on the way up or down - well worth the trip!

But it is an amazing walk and the nice ambience as well as the typical food when you arrive worth all the effort! Pay attention! During the winter season it's not easy to find parking, so you should arrive early or be prepared to add other two kilometers to the walk to reach the beginning of the footpath. The good thing is that you will see the lake of Fusine...Amazing both in winter and summer time!

Nice view, but to get a panorama over the lake you need to hike another 30 minutes after the rifugio. Good food, ask for the piatto del giorno and do not stop at the menu which is stock. Try the elderberry drink, is super. If walking, take the path in the wood and avoid the road. Bikes go downhill too fast.

However, part of the experience is the 1.5h (quite steep) hike to get there, after which there is nothing better to eat than a sausage with polenta and mushrooms. The views are also very nice and staff is friendly. Recommended!
