Il personale è sempre squisito e disponibile, vanno ringraziati per il loro lavoro e per come lo fanno. Il cibo è ottimo e i dolci si distinguono per genuinità e squisitezza. L'alba dal rifugio vale la levata. If you want to experience a "real" refuge, here you are. The Ciareido is small and everything goes in proportion. The staff are always exquisite and helpful, they should be thanked for their work and how they do it. The food is excellent and the desserts stand out for their authenticity and delicacy. The sunrise from the refuge is worth the rise.

M	Mariarosa Genovese on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Un sabato di fine marzo, in quota c'è ancora neve, ma un neve che sfonda dunque meglio non andar in cerca di non divertirsi causa ravanamenti... Così decido di raggiungere il Rifugio Ciareido,in questo periodo chiuso. Parto da Lozzo di Cadore dopo aver parcheggiato in centro, oltrepasso il paese tenendomi a sinistra così incroceró più avanti la strada che sale al pian dei Buoi.... Da Lozzo il GPS mi da 15 km per raggiungere il rifugio... Così passo dopo passo guadagno strada e giungo alla piana dove d'estate c'è il parcheggio auto, qui la neve è molla, un po' fatico ma cerco di stare sulle tracce dure... I km, aggiunti al dislivello si fanno sentire sulle gambe e gli ultimi 100 m sono duri ma una volta arrivata la stanchezza trova riposo nel panorama di una meravigliosa giornata di sole... Da fuori il rifugio non mi piace molto... Bassino, un po' cupo... Scopro che era una casermetta della guerra... A qualche metro staccato sorge il bivacco invernale molto spartano.... La cosa più bella... Il silenzio! On a Saturday at the end of March, there is still snow at high altitudes, but a snow that breaks through so it's better not to go in search of not having fun because of ravages ... So I decide to reach the Ciareido Refuge, which is closed at this time. I leave Lozzo di Cadore after having parked in the center, I pass the village keeping to the left so I will later cross the road that goes up to the Pian dei Buoi .... From Lozzo the GPS gives me 15 km to reach the refuge ... So I pass step by step I gain the road and reach the plain where in the summer there is the car park, here the snow is spring, a bit tired but I try to stay on the hard tracks ... The km, added to the difference in height, are felt on the legs and the last 100 m are hard but once you get tired you find rest in the panorama of a wonderful sunny day ... I don't like the refuge very much from the outside ... Bassino, a bit gloomy ... I discover that it was a barracks of the war ... A few meters away is the very spartan winter bivouac .... The most beautiful thing ... The silence!

D	Daniel Gijsbers on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful view, nice food, good via ferrata. Oh and the 13 km drive uphill is fun. Be aware you are only allowed to go up between 9:00 and 13:00 and later only down.
M	Max Calligola on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful location at the end of the Pian dei Buoi, about 15/20 minutes' walk from parking place. The road that comes up from Lozzo (about 13 km) is winding and narrow, and has a timed one way system during the summer months (9-13 for going up only; 14-17 for coming down only). The hut itself is in a marvelous panoramic location, off the beaten track. Food was delicious, even though the wait a bit long, and reasonably priced. It is definitely worth a visit if you want to get a taster of the "true" Dolomites and avoid the crowded areas.
