★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The caretakers (Italo and Giovanna) are some of the loveliest people I've ever met in Italy. And the dinners they whip up are out of this world. Days in advance, call ahead or message the refuge on Facebook to make sure it's open. There are free hiking guides online that tell you the easy paths to reach it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were so happy that the restaurant was still serving food when we arrived here after about 2.5 hours of hiking. The food is definitely hearty comfort food and so full of flavor, exactly what you need to fuel your body for hiking.
