An extremely strange place in the middle of a noisy city, and not at all in its central part. Nearby there are trams, cars, people waiting for transport at stops. The antique gate to the city, which at one time was a paid entrance to the city (judging by the kind of historical sources). The gates themselves were rented, such as paid for a year of rent and during this time you charge an entry fee, what you earned is all yours :-) + in the upper part there were several aqueducts of the city, the photo shows 2 large side holes in the upper part of the gate. + Next to the baker's tomb, this structure is on the right with many holes in the 1st photo. You can read it on the Internet, the impression of the gate is incredible, of course the modern surroundings play a role.

First of all you can see what is left of the Claudian Aqueduct. From here you can follow it some distance in both directions. It crosses the old Roman wall, which you can also follow. From Porta Maggiore you can take #5 tram can to the station (Termini) or the #3 to the Colosseum. You could also walk from here to the Colosseum. Nice atmosphere many restaurants and cafes nearby.

Welcome to Roman high tech. This was the central water hub of Rome. You can still see three aquaeducts one over another. The water came and went in a lot of directions. In our days it is an extremely noisy and dirty place. You visit it best at dawn. The matching location is the fastest Parco dei Acquaedotti. Like water hlghways you can see them pointing at Rome...
