★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Scendendo con attenzione il sentiero è possibile ammirare un ponte che presenta il caratteristico profilo a schiena d’asino con due arcate diseguali che sarebbe stato costruito da Annibale durante la seconda guerra punica del 218-202 a.C. per permettere al suo esercito l'attraversamento del torrente (in quell'epoca fiume) Platano.
Sorvoliamo sul fatto che tale ponte è chiamato anche ponte del Diavolo perché legato a leggende di magia e riti.
Delle due arcate, la maggiore ha un diametro di circa 13,25 m e un’altezza di 11 m mentre l’arcata minore ha un diametro di circa 4,60 m. Gli archi sono a unica ghiera con blocchi calcarei di forma squadrata irregolari. L’arcata è costruita con elementi calcarei disposti in maniera disordinata, in cui sono evidenti i fori usati per le centine.
