La lunghezza è di 350 metri per 152 metri di altezza; la campata principale misura 46 metri. Il ponte fu costruito nel 1972 e completato nel 1973. Al tempo della sua costruzione era presumibilmente il più alto ponte stradale del Paese e uno dei primi in Europa. Fin dai primi anni seguiti alla sua costruzione, è stato scelto da numerose persone per suicidarsi. The Pistolesa bridge is a road bridge that connects Veglio to Mosso and has been home to the first permanent bungee jumping center established in Italy since the 1990s. The length is 350 meters and 152 meters high; the main span measures 46 meters. The bridge was built in 1972 and completed in 1973. At the time of its construction it was presumably the highest road bridge in the country and one of the first in Europe. Per l'imponenza e l'esorbitante altezza, 152m slm, è chiamato anche Colossus ed effettivamente percorrerlo crea una certa inquietudine nonché fretta di arrivare alla fine...ma per la stessa ragione è da decenni sede permanente di un centro bungee jumping attrezzato e che utilizza dispositivi brevettati dai Dipartimenti del Politecnico di Milano, la qual cosa non rende questo "gioco della morte", ai miei occhi, più interessante. Comunque, il sito, proprio per questo motivo, è molto frequentato durante tutto l'anno. Si trova inoltre nella zona devastata, 51 anni fa ossia nel 1968, da un disastroso e vasto evento alluvionale che ha messo in ginocchio per molto tempo il settore lanifero locale. Io ci ho fatto il mio primo bungee nel 98 e poi tanti altri ancora. Imposing structure surrounded by nature, to see and possibly to try a bungee jump, really exciting! Infatti è attraversato solo da una strada provinciale a basso traffico chiusa per di più ai mezzi pesanti. Anche l'attraversamento pedonale è (o sarebbe) proibito probabilmente perché in passato il viadotto è stato teatro di insani gesti. Resta il fatto che con i suoi 152 metri d'altezza quando fu costruito (tra il 1972 e il 1973) fu considerato il più alto d'Italia!
