Fantastic wines and marvelous advice from Daniele. Great classical Sicilian wines, nice tapas and cosy feeling. Good prices too for a luxury place (7€ a glass)

We had 2 reasons to return to the restaurant after 2 years: 1. The Panna cotta and 2. The Panna cotta...!!!...made by Rosi. Again we enjoyed the entire dinner very much, not only because of great dishes but also because of the familiy cordiality of the Pizzo's and their team (Daniele and Giovanni - sorry caro for the lost final!). This was a most surprising night! It started bumpily since we didn't call beforehand to make a reservation but instead showed up at the door hoping to be lucky... We weren't lucky at first... There was no empty tables to the place (neither inside nor outside) and it was full with locals, which is of course always a great plus when you visit a bar/resto for the first time. There were no empty places at the bar also which is our favourite place to sit. We tried to make a reservation for the next night quite disappointed and as we spoke there came a waiter and let us know that he could give us two spots at the bar if we agreed to be extra close to the people who were already sitting there. And we jumped at the chance! The bartender spoke good English and he took a liking in us when we told him that we were extremely interested in Sicilian wines. Our order to nibble on was a great (one of the greatest ever!) platter of italian cheese and charcuterie. With our new friend's held we decided on not ordering a whole bottle of wine to begin with but to start with a Prosecco and let him lead us into the heaven of Sicilian wine. So we did. Thankfully! And it was our lucky night indeed! We finished the night tasting glasses of wine that left us speechless. I don't know if they do this for everyone but we felt like royalty. Service was excellent and the bill was around 100 euros for the platter and 8 excellent glasses of wine in total. Our visit took place in August 2017. Still in our hearts! We are planning a weekend in Palermo just to visit Pizzo e Pizzo again!

We stumbled upon this bar unexpectedly on our trip to Palermo, and so glad we found this place. The wine collection is superb and so is the sommelier who was extremely knowledgeable on the Sicilian wines! The staff and service was wonderful and very pleasant. The food menu compliments the wine and the vibe of the place. Highly recommend their cheese selection and cold cuts. Overall, great place and totally recommend it!

Highly recommend this neighbourhood spot for authentic experience. Casual but lively, food is fresh, yummy, made of local high quality ingredients and one can pick and choose from variety of local favorites. The selection of local wines perfectly complement the fare. You know it is a happy place when everyone is having a glass of wine during Thursday lunch ??

They charge extra for tourists. Deli section charge EUR45 for lunch. I ordered one small slice of eggplant parmigiana, one small slice of mashed potato cake, one glass of red wine (7 euro but on the bill 10 somehow?), and a small plate of cheese (see photo) for $40. The bill didn’t even have a breakdown.
