There were 3 tables taken out of 20(?). When we finish our pizza, the outside tables were still empty. That was strange.

Low profile look but you can get real spaghetti as per local tradition, there’s no or little competition, simply the best place. Really fresh fish, clean and honest service, I’m a local and it was probably the best sea urchin spaghetti I had since I was having it when I was a teenager on my father boat. Most of the other places in Piombino are overrated and snobby.

The manager wanted to seat us outside because everything inside was already booked - even though the entire place was empty. We really wanted a table inside because of the car noise outside. He said that he can seat us inside from around 7:00-8:30. We agreed to the terms as we only wanted to quickly eat dinner and leave afterwards. We waited for our waitress for about 10-15 minutes. After she received our order, she asked whether we wanted any beverages at all; we thanked her saying that we do not need anything to drink. Then, after she walked away, the manager showed up at the table in the nick of time saying that we cannot remain on the premises as the entire place is booked (again, after initially inviting us in and having the waitress take our order!). All the sudden, every table outside was allegedly booked as well. So, at about 7:20, we were asked to leave and so we did. My only assumption can be that they wanted to make money off of drinks and not serve us food that we wanted to try. It was a horrible experience and I would never recommended this place to anyone - the worst service we have had visiting Piombino in Tuscany. If there were an option to give 0 stars, I would have done it.
