★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Situata ai piedi della collina che conduce a Montecarlo, é documentata dall’846, ma gli scavi effettuati all’interno dai recenti restauri hanno riportato alla luce i resti di due edifici ecclesiali, il più antico di età tardo romana risalente circa all’età del secolo IV. L’attuale edificio costituisce un esempio intatto di stile romanico lucchese.
Located at the foot of the hill leading to Montecarlo, it is documented since 846, but the excavations carried out inside by the recent restorations have brought to light the remains of two ecclesial buildings, the oldest dating back to the late Roman period 4th century. The current building is an intact example of the Romanesque style of Lucca.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa è molto bella ma ero lì per fare il percorso Carlo Cassola indicato sul sito del Comune di Montecarlo, dovrebbe essere il punto di partenza ma non ci sono cartelli e neppure segnaletica, del tutto carente anche nel proseguo del percorso che a fatica ho trovato. Penso che è controproducente pubblicizzare iniziative mal fatte.
The church is very beautiful but I was there to do the Carlo Cassola route indicated on the website of the Municipality of Montecarlo, it should be the starting point but there are no signs or signs, completely lacking even in the continuation of the path that I found with difficulty .
