In effetti la piazza è delimitata in uno dei suoi lati corti dalla Chiesa di sant'Andrea con il suo bel campanile dodecagonale e in uno dei suoi lati lunghi dal palazzo comunale, progettato da Ippolito Scalza. È uno dei centri della città e porta della sua parte più medioevale.
Piazza della Repubblica or for the Orvieto people piazza di sant'Andrea or piazza del comune. In fact the square is bounded in one of its short sides by the Church of Sant'Andrea with its beautiful twelve-sided bell tower and in one of its long sides by the town hall, designed by Ippolito Scalza. It is one of the centers of the city and gate of its most medieval part.
