Stumbled upon this restaurant because felice was fully booked. What a wonderful find! Amazing traditional food with great service. One of the best meals I’ve had in Rome!

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor for an impromptu lunch. It is casual and unpretentious with tables inside and outside under umbrellas. The tables are close together and the chat buzzes as dishes are brought out from the kitchen. GWe fancied a bowl of pasta and oh my goodness we were not disappointed! The menu was in Italian but our water explained the dishes. There were plenty of pasta favourites such as Carbonara which the man on the next table had come from Paris to eat. We had Spaghettoni with calamari and brocoletto which was so tasty and so simple. The glass of house white wine was chilled and smooth. For desert I had Tiramisu made in house as was my husband’s chocolate mouse. The bill was €45 for the most delicious meal we had eaten in Rome!

A total hidden gem! Friendly waiters, popular with locals but not crowded with tourists (yet). Everything on the menu is delicious, though my favourite isΒ rigatoni con la pajata.

Really good pasta. I know we are in Italy but finding fresh home made pasta cooked just right is really special and hard to find. Unique combinations of flavors with a chef who clearly appreciates and search's out just the right peppers. Come here for excellent Roman food.

Recommended by renowned food blogger Katie Parla, Piatto Romano did not disappoint. Atriciana had a rich tomato flavor with cinnamon-infused guanciale. Spaghettoni with spinach and squids was fresh and smooth, the pasta nicely aldente and positively chewy. And all VERY affordable!

In one word - wow! The first place in Rome where I felt like they weren’t trying to cater to tourists, but rather making the food they loved - using the season’s best local produce - and inviting you to try. Didn’t have a single β€œpopular” dish (though they serve some of those to) and had so much fun experimenting with their specialties. Of special not was the sweet-sour onion, the marinated anchovies and the spaghetti with squid and cime di rapa. A light dessert of homemade gelato with a mound of wild strawberries was the perfect note to end the meal on. As for the service - our waitress was lovely, helpful and patient, and gave us excellent recommendations. Combined with good pricing and a relaxed atmosphere, it’s definitely a place I’ll come back to again.

I strongly recommend this place! Overall experience was of the highest level: 1. Extremely proffesional staff: experts in wine and food. Waitress patiently answered all the questions and proposed the wine that suited perfect to the food we chose. 2. Deliciuos food - pasta carbonara, the classic one, was brialliant cooked. The leaves in anchouves sauce was gordegous - simple meal, but well done. 3. Price was ok - you could even expect higher price for the restaurant like this. Visit the restaurant while staying in Rome.
