★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of my favorite statues I've seen thus far in Italy.
The area has about a dozen other statues, and is just infront of a Plazza. This is a nice spot to walk around, or relax.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They say this is the first statue made in bronze. The artist ran out of bronze because he miscalculated & this will result in a jail term or death. So he went & gathered his cutlery, melted them and completed his sculpture - Medusa's head & the arm. Our tour guide said that a metal test was done on the statue & they found that the metal in medusa's head was different from the one in the main body.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing piece of art. The legend says it was one of the first masterpieces made out of bronze. As the atist went out of material he gathered the cutlery of his whole family in order to finish the sculpture.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What an incredible rendition of this classic mythology. It is quite the experience to see the climax of the story rendered in a sculpture. Highly recommended to visit. The cool thing is there are benches available for you to use to really soak in the statues from all sides. Every angle is a marvel for the eyes. Feels like Perseus is going to jump right off the platform!
