★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love this no nonsense traditional caffe run by a husband and wife? duo who have been running this local gem for years - she works the machine (beautiful coffee) and he bakes the cakes and pastries (vast selection - try the Torta Russa di Verona!). Fast, efficient and clearly a hit with locals - tourists shouldn't be put off by the staccato service, they churn out the coffee here so just place your order without delay and you'll have a coffee within a minute!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The smell of the caffe stopped me in my walking tracks this morning and the caffe was as tasty! So happy I walked by this amazing place! The barista/? Owner was so kind despite my limited Italian and the pastry display was beautiful! I wouldn’t know what to pick since it all looked so good and very clean in her shop! I loved the caffe, it was smooth and gave me a kick after. That it’s their own is even better. I look forward to making this pasticceria a frequent morning stop! Thank you for being so sweet to me and for your delicious caffe

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After passing an entire window full of the Verona speciality cake, Torta Russa di Verona, we had to go back to Barini and purchase one of the smaller cakes.
It's interesting looking in that it almost looks like a large pork pie with very flaky pastry. But wrapped inside is an almond cake. It was nice, not too sweet and two of us shared a small one. Though if you have smaller appetites it could easily be split 3 or 4 ways.
