★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Agli inizi degli anni '60 alle falde del monte Pellegrino, ancora non invaso dalla cementificazione, fondendosi con l'istituto Orionino, "Villaggio del fanciullo Don Orione" nasceva la chiesa Madonna della Divina Provvidenza, poi divenuta parrocchia. Punto di riferimento per moltissime persone del quartiere "Montepellegrino" le quali giornalmente hanno rapporti con le varie associazioni in essa istituite come la caritas, la mensa per i poveri, l'ascolto ( telefono per chi ha problemi e cerca aiuto) corsi prematrimoniali, comunioni, cresime, battesimi, tutte gestite in collaborazione tra clero e volontariato, con la supervisione dei superiori della gerarchia ecclesiale.
