★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa stupenda del primo Monastero francescano femminile, risalente al 1218, voluta da Chiara e Francesco. Tutto affrescato l'interno (xiv-xvii secolo). Ancora più interessante il retro, csdetto Coro delle Monache (probabilmente la chiesa primitiva) completamente affrescato (xiii secolo) e in corso di restauro.
Beautiful church of the first female Franciscan monastery, dating back to 1218, built by Chiara and Francesco. All interior frescoes (xiv-seventeenth century). The rear is even more interesting, as Coro delle Monache (probably the primitive church) completely frescoed (13th century) and being restored.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sono arrivata per caso in questa chiesa nel mio girovagare per Perugia di una domenica pomeriggio. Purtroppo era chiusa e la facciata occupata parzialmente dal ponteggio per il restauro. Impossibile però non rimanere colpiti, appena la chiesa appare sulla strada, dalla bellezza della sua composizione architettonica. La scacchiera di pietre perfettamente quadrate della bellissima pietra rosa del Subasio con cornici bianche; una tessitura che ho piacevolmente scoperto anche nel prospetto di altre chiese perugine.
I arrived by chance in this church in my wanderings around Perugia on a Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately it was closed and the facade partially occupied by the scaffolding for restoration. However, it is impossible not to be struck, as soon as the church appears on the street, from the beauty of its architectural composition. The chessboard of perfectly square stones of the beautiful pink Subasio stone with white frames; a texture that I pleasantly discovered also in the prospectus of other Perugian churches.
