This is a story about finding the needle in the proverbial haystack, thanks to Nora at Paropamiso. The shop is classy and boasts outstanding antiquities. More than that it has Nora, a smart, savvy and friendly woman who was THE factor in solving my riddle. The riddle was a request from my sister to find the shop where she had purchased several necklaces last July. After several misdirections and walking myself to near-madness, I discovered there were several Paropamiso addresses. A new friend at a pasta-to-go shop nearby cleared that up and directed me to the correct shop. Alas, while my sister had given me the name Paropamiso, where she "thought" she had bought the items, this was not the case. But here is where Nora became the heroine. I showed her a photo provided by my sister and while she knew it wasn't her shop, she had a notion it was a place around the corner. Nora literally took me by the hand and in two minutes we were at a shop called LUBEN. Presto! This was the place! I texted photos of necklaces to my sister to confirm. Finally, after three days of hunting..."tranquillo." For anyone looking for a first class shop managed by a first-class lady, find your way to Paropamiso. And say hello to Nora for me.

I am writing a review for all the tourist to be very CAREFUL when you buy jewelry from this shop because they are not honest and committing fraud by mis-marking and selling gold and silver Jewelry for price not worth its value. It is illegal to mis-mark stamp gold and silver. People like this shop owners lying and selling expensive pieces not worth its value are not honest and are the lowest sort of humanity ....I bought four gold bangles and the owner said they are all 22 carat made in India. I paid a big amount because the owners checked in front of me and said its 22 carat but drafted a certificate for18 to 20 ct. I got it checked at five other jewlrey stores and they all told me that three bangles are 14 ct and one is 18 ct. I went back to the shop owner Michael and asked him to pay me back the difference and only charge for three 14 ct and one 18 ct gold bangles for its value plus his work and taxes but he refused to refund my money instead offered to refund full amount. I cannot walk in Venice with a big amount of cash as its unsafe and I cannot open an International bank account because I am a US Citizen. I will not pay taxes and fees to deposit money In an Italian bank account. Doesn't make sene. I don't trust the shop owner to give him the bangles because what if he never refunds my money in my account. It's fair to charge the value of three 14 ct bangles gold and one 18 ct and just pay back the difference simple . He didnt care about me as a customer to maintain a client retailer relationship especially when I bought so many jewlrey pieces from him in last three two years. He was more concerned about taking the bangles and doing the same fraud with another tourist. He charged me for 22 ct for $$$$$$ and sold me 3 bangles 14 ct and 1 bangle 18 ct thats only valued at $$ then made me a fake certificate for 20 carat that never existed in jewlrey business.....What a CROOK! He knew what he was selling. I filed a Police Report and informed US Consulate also EU Consumer dept to investigate and close his shop and fine him for doing this to other tourist. I also informed the Customs office. A common friend of a friend who knows them said they do that to other tourist all the time. It is illegal! Please be careful and don't go to the shop and if you bought jewlrey from this fraud then please get it tested ASAP!
