Ci sono tornato quest'estate, un colpo al cuore vederlo in quello stato. Wonderful place with enormous potential ... for guided tours, for excursions, walks, mountain bike tours. Too bad it's totally abandoned. I returned this summer, a blow to the heart to see him in that state.

La Pro-Loco di Cannole non lo sa ma una quindicina di anni fa ha creato un mostro portandoci a fare una visita guidata sul territorio. Mi presentarono la Masseria Torcito ai tempi appena ristrutturata, io da allora ogni anno ci passo e ci porto qualcuno a visitarla. È per me un onore poter far conoscere questa bellissima realtà ai miei ospiti, ai miei amici, anche locali. La visita alla Torcito al tramonto prima di andare alla sagra della Municheddha è ormai un classico!! Oltre alla Masseria che se c'è qualche cancello aperto (in qs periodo tutti!!) si può visitare andando sui tetti, c'è la chiesetta che ha un eco unico, caratteristica la vecchia strada segnata dai carri, dietro la sede (ormai vandalizzata) della Pro-Loco c'è una cavernetta 'basiliana' con sopra scavate delle tombette, andando avanti in mezzo alla pineta c'è l'accessibile torre colombaia con affianco la cava d'estrazione delle pietre da costruzione. Si completa il giro visitando il bellissimo e rappresentativo 'Trappeto' frantoio ipogeo. Nonostante i pipistrelli ed il caldo alla fine vale sempre la pena!! Buona Torcito!! Fortified farmhouse full of very representative historical elements. The Pro-Loco di Cannole doesn't know it but about fifteen years ago it created a monster by taking us on a guided tour of the area. They introduced me to the Torcito Masseria which had just been renovated at the time. Since then, I have been there every year and take someone to visit it. It is an honor for me to be able to introduce this beautiful reality to my guests, my friends, even locals. The visit to Torcito at sunset before going to the Municheddha festival is now a classic !! In addition to the Masseria which if there is any gate open (in this period all !!) can be visited by going over the roofs, there is the church that has a unique echo, characteristic of the old road marked by wagons, behind the headquarters (now vandalized) of the Pro-Loco there is a 'Basilian' cave with dug tombs on it, going forward in the middle of the pine forest is the accessible dovecote tower next to the quarry for the extraction of building stones. The tour is completed by visiting the beautiful and representative 'Trappeto' underground oil mill. Despite the bats and the heat in the end it is always worth it! Good Torcito !!
