★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best place to park in Volterra, if you can make it. It fills up fast. this is where you walk out of the garage and get overwhelmed by the view. The piazza immediately outside the garage is the spot from which you see all those great photos of Volterra. Its an easy walk into the city form here. Don't try to park here, though, if you don't have a small car. It will be difficult.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Avoid this place at all cost. Ridiculous architecture does not allow for two cars to pass at the same time. Unless you own a classic Fiat 500 you will have a lot of trouble maneuvering around, spaces are small and laid out very illogically. It took me 5 minutes to reverse into a spot after making a million point u-turn because cars parked properly left not enough space to pass them. As it is an underground car park elevators are an important part, unfortunately, in this place, there is only one elevator that can take up to 300kg of load and does not go to the ground floor but to level '-1. Inconvenient, dangerous, impractical, making your stay at Volterra significantly more stressful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hmmm ?, very convenient and popular parking structure with four subterranean levels which is right at the heart of Volterra. As good as that is, the spiral ramp is very tight and difficult to navigate if you have cars travelling in both directions. The spaces are also very tight, possibly not designed with today’s bigger car dimensions in mind. Some VERY tight turns and squeezes passed cars not parked with much care by their owners.
I have rated this as 3 because of the experience of trying to park here on a busy morning. Navigating the ramp with cars seemingly everywhere made this a stressful experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Small car and driving skills are the best way to go, however it is terrible as read in some reviews. It is busy, and I recommend you bring enough cash in case the card readers do not work (if there are any, didn't notice) but parking was absolutely fine. Def. On the busier side and snug-er fit.
