G	Giuseppe Citterio on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ PALAZZO FOPPOLI. Elegante edificio cinquecentesco, costruito da Ludovico Quadrio dottore in giurisprudenza ed originario di Grosio. Tipici del periodo il portale e il cortile interno con corridoio perimetrale su mensole in pietra, oltre al salone a piano terra, detto Sala del camino. Nel 1674 è passato di proprietà alla famiglia Marchesi. Questa a sua volta cedette l'immobile, assieme ad altre due case, al santuario della Beata Vergine Maria di Madonna di Tirano. I deputati del santuario lo diedero in locazione; al piano terreno, fu aperta un'osteria, nel 1760 (rimane la tipica apertura ad L rovesciata sul fronte verso il fiume). Sopra il portale gli stessi deputati, per testimoniarne la proprietà, avevano commissionato un dipinto che raffigurasse la scena dell'Apparizione della Beata Vergine. Oggi, purtroppo lo stato di conservazione dell'affresco risulta precario. Il restauratore morbegnese Marco Garoli, nella primavera del 1991, aveva condotto delle operazioni di pulizia e consolidamento dei colori. Il palazzo è poi divenuto di proprietà della famiglia Foppoli, della quale conserva il nome, e quindi successivamente per legato testamentario, al dottor Dino Bernardino Mazza. Fu Cosima Foppoli detta Cosimina ( 1849-1913 ) a costituirlo suo erede e il palazzo divenne Ufficio provinciale del Lavoro e dell'Immigrazione. Alla sua morte, nel 1962, il figlio Mario Camillo subentrò al padre come Presidente del Lascito e di seguito, in data 8 febbraio 1971, il palazzo fu devoluto alla comunità di Tirano. Elegant sixteenth-century building, built by Ludovico Quadrio, a lawyer from Grosio. Typical of the period are the portal and the internal courtyard with a perimeter corridor on stone shelves, as well as the hall on the ground floor, known as the Fireplace Room. In 1674 it passed to the Marchesi family. This in turn ceded the property, together with two other houses, to the sanctuary of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Madonna di Tirano. The deputies of the sanctuary leased it; on the ground floor, a tavern was opened in 1760 (the typical inverted L-shaped opening on the front towards the river remains). Above the portal the same deputies, to testify the ownership, had commissioned a painting that depicted the scene of the Apparition of the Blessed Virgin. Today, unfortunately, the conservation status of the fresco is precarious. The Morbegnese restorer Marco Garoli, in the spring of 1991, had carried out cleaning and consolidation of the colors. The building then became the property of the Foppoli family, of which it retains the name, and therefore subsequently by testamentary legacy, to Dr. Dino Bernardino Mazza. It was Cosima Foppoli called Cosimina (1849-1913) who made him his heir and the building became the Provincial Labor and Immigration Office. On his death in 1962, his son Mario Camillo took over from his father as President of the Legacy and subsequently, on February 8, 1971, the building was donated to the community of Tirano. l	lorella hohn on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stupendo palazzo pienodi sé e di storia, con un bellissimo camino al centro della sala e caratteristiche opere murali al soffitto. Un altra epica da riscoprire. Assolutamente da vedere. Superb pienodi palace itself and history, with a beautiful fireplace in the middle of the room and features murals on the ceiling. Another epic to be rediscovered. Absolutely to see.
