★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DURANTE il soggiorno roglianese Garibaldi occupa l’appartamento che nel 1844 aveva ospitato Re Ferdinando II° di Borbone e la Regina Maria Teresa Isabella d’Austria. “Pranzò – ricorda il De Cesare – nella sala della cappella, e alle tre pomeridiane, essendo giunto Donato Morelli con Thurr, Arrivabene, Caravà ed altri ufficiali e guide, si diè a regolare le cose di Governo”. Il generale era ripartito da Rogliano alla volta di Cosenza lasciando in ricordo alle signore Morelli il ‘Memoriale per la fanteria e cavalleria’ rilegato “in marrocchino rosso con fregi d’oro, e un grosso lapis che lo chiude” con relativa dedica datata 31 agosto 1860. Il 24 ottobre dello stesso anno il Decurionato della Città di Rogliano concede aGiuseppe Garibaldi la cittadinanza onoraria a titolo di gratitudine, amore e riverenza. La famiglia Morelli ha avuto un ruolo di primo piano nella preparazione della campagna garibaldina, quindi nel processo storico che ha portato alla unificazione nazionale e alla fase post unitaria. In particolare Donato, prima governatore di Calabria Citra, poi senatore del Regno, è stato uno dei grandi protagonisti, benché‘gattopardescamente’ della storia roglianese e cosnetina dell’Ottocento
 DURING the Roglianese stay Garibaldi occupies the apartment that in 1844 had hosted King Ferdinand II of Bourbon and Queen Maria Teresa Isabella of Austria. "He had lunch - recalls De Cesare - in the chapel room, and at three in the afternoon, having arrived Donato Morelli with Thurr, Arrivabene, Caravà and other officers and guides, he began to regulate government matters". The general had left Rogliano for Cosenza, leaving the 'Memorial for infantry and cavalry' bound to the Morelli ladies in “red marrocchino with gold friezes, and a large lapis which closes it” with relative dedication dated 31 August 1860. On October 24 of the same year the Decurionato of the City of Rogliano granted Giuseppe Garibaldi honorary citizenship by way of gratitude, love and reverence. The Morelli family played a leading role in the preparation of the Garibaldi campaign, then in the historical process that led to national unification and the post-unification phase. In particular Donato, first governor of Calabria Citra, then senator of the Kingdom, was one of the great protagonists, albeit 'gattopardescamente' in the history of Roglianese and Cosnetina of the nineteenth century
