It dates back to before the fifteenth century and links its past history to three of the great historical families of Venice: the Marin, the Contarini and the Venier.
Its frescoed rooms of the eighteenth century are splendid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Это изящное палаццо расположено на левом берегу Гранд канала. Считается, что оно было построено в 1475 году на месте сторожевой башни, и именно этим объясняются его небольшие размеры. Дворец, выполненный в готическом стиле, запоминается, в первую очередь, кружевными балкончиками второго и третьего ярусов. Узор, их украшающий, является единственным в своем роде в Венеции, а с богатством их отделки могут соперничать, пожалуй, только лоджии Ка' д'Оро, построенного, кстати, все для того же семейства Контарини. Любопытен также фамильный герб Контарини на фасаде палаццо, органично вписывающийся в общую концепцию здания. Второе название Палаццо Контарини Фазан – Дом Дездемоны
This graceful palazzo is located on the left bank of the Grand Canal. It is believed to have been built in 1475 on the site of a watchtower, which explains its small size. The palace, made in the Gothic style, is remembered, first of all, by the lacy balconies of the second and third tiers. The pattern that decorates them is the only one of its kind in Venice, and perhaps only the loggias of Ca 'd'Oro, built, by the way, for the same Contarini family, can compete with the richness of their decoration. The family coat of arms of Contarini on the facade of the palazzo is also curious, organically fitting into the general concept of the building.
