Il personale è cortese e la visita include le pratiche audioguide che permettono di immedesimarsi perfettamente nella storia. Al piano superiore eccezionali gli affreschi e bellissima la moderna installazione di Paolo Carbone. Un pomeriggio istruttivo e piacevolissimo Evocative and interesting museum for the fascinating events that took place there. Arranged on two levels, it is very complete and well maintained. The staff is courteous and the visit includes audio guide practices that allow you to immerse yourself perfectly in the history. Upstairs there are exceptional frescoes and a beautiful modern installation by Paolo Carbone. An educational and very pleasant afternoon

È conosciuto da molti così perché si narra che Giacomo Sciarra Colonna, a capo di un gruppo di mercenari alle dipendenze del re di Francia Filippo IV, schiaffeggiò Papa Bonifacio VIII in questo palazzo! Questo episodio avvenne nel 1303 e fu al culmine delle tensioni tra il Papa e il regnante francese che non riconosceva l'autorità papale come tale! Nel ricco programma di rievocazioni del paese infatti vale la pena partecipare a"I giorni dello Schiaffo" a settembre! La visita del palazzo ha un costo di 5 € , e viene fornita l'audioguida. Non sono molti ambienti , 4 o 5 , ma sono ben conservati! La sala delle Scacchiere è quella in cui si ipotizza essere avvenuto l'episodio dello schiaffo;la Sala delle Oche, la più bella a mio avviso, prende il nome dall' affresco al suo interno. Degna di nota anche la Sala del Giubileo e la loggetta! Tappa obbligatoria per chi visita Anagni!! The palace of the slap! It is known by many as it is because it is said that Giacomo Sciarra Colonna, at the head of a group of mercenaries employed by the French king Philip IV, slapped Pope Boniface VIII in this palace! This episode took place in 1303 and was at the height of the tensions between the Pope and the French ruler who did not recognize papal authority as such! In fact, in the rich program of re-enactments of the town it is worth taking part in "The days of the Schiaffo" in September! The visit of the palace costs € 5, and an audio guide is provided. There aren't many rooms, 4 or 5, but they are well preserved! The Sala delle Scacchiere is the one in which the episode of the slap is assumed to have occurred; the Sala delle Oche, the most beautiful in my opinion, takes its name from the fresco inside. Also noteworthy is the Jubilee Room and the loggia! Obligatory stop for those visiting Anagni !!

Una ottima audioguida compresa nel biglietto fornisce tutte le spiegazioni sulla storia di Anagni e del suo Papa più conosciuto, Bonifacio VIII. Gli ambienti sono interessanti e a mio giudizio merita una visita. Palace rich in history for all the events that have happened there. Nice to see even if it can't compete with the Duomo museum. An excellent audio guide included in the ticket provides all the explanations on the history of Anagni and his best known Pope, Bonifacio VIII. The environments are interesting and in my opinion worth a visit.
