★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are a non Italian visitor you want to be ignored, treated poorly and want a lottery type payment ( one time it's this price the next time it's a different price) snacks are given to others but not you . Then Palace on Piazza del Popolo is for you.
Until this year they were great. Friendly and even though your spoken Italian left a lot to be desired (as long as you made an effort ) you were welcomed and treated fairly. The prices were the same for everyone, they were happy to have you there and you were treated the same as everyone else.
We have spent many years in Orvieto and have always enjoyed being there, Palace was the place we recommend to all. But not now!! There are places here that would be happy to have you join the locals and will not treat you like a intruder.
Love Orvieto always have and in the many years we have spent here we have been treated kindly. Do not judge Orvieto on the treatment that the Palace dishes out.
