Pretending that your restaurant is closed a few hours before closing time because I'm a tourist is mildly amusing the first time, but this final place telling me they're closed when there's still a customer inside? Ridiculous. Only other place remaining open was McDonald's. But I'm in Italy and want real Italian food. Should I be only speaking in Italian and ordering off some secret menu? What gives??

Had an amazing time here. The staff was so friendly. We were taken here by our friend in who lives in Rome. The restaurant was filled with locals not tourists. The staff doesn't speak the best of English so you know it's not a tourist trap. Get the cold seafood plate on the anti pasta. We also had the white pizza, which is more like a focaccia. I recommend as a restaurant when you are visiting the Vatican.

My husband and I ordered steaks, while my children chose pasta. Although my less than impressive steak came out 20 min or so later, along with my children's spaghetti, it took them almost an hour to deliver my husband's food. Was terrible. Looked like pig slop covered in pepper. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

The food was good, but nothing special and little bit pricey. The table wine was not really good. The restaurant is run by a family of which only two members was really nice. Had the feeling that they want us to eat as quick as possible and leave the olace the whole time we spend there. We also get the food at another time each, which makes little bit difficult to enjoy a nice family lunch together. We got one knife and fork for three dishes as noone paid any attention to us to see if we need anything. Would not go there for the second time.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this restaurant and the family that owns it. We had our wedding reception here in January and I've never been so looked after in my life. One manager spoke wonderful English and proposed not only a delicious menu, but promised they could make a Tiramisu cake for us (taking the worry of us having to find one among all the planning we had to do). When we arrived everything was beautifully set up for our party of 26. We had five courses in all (all such good traditional Italian food and beautifully plated), plus cake, plus a flowing supply of wine and water, plus delicious prosseco to toast with. We were groaning by the time we left. We were probably there a good 8 hours and in all that time the waiters (in black with their gorgeous little yellow bow ties) were the most pleasant and attentive we had in Italy. And the best part was it was so reasonably priced. We just stumbled upon this restaurant in our Rome wanderings and we are so very glad we did. Thank you for making our wedding day so wonderfully special!

Lovely experience, just the perfect lunch to fuel our visit to the Vatican Museums.

Great place to grab a bite although being so close to vatican you need to be patient with the service. Food is good and prices are according to the area haha ? locals go here.
