β β β β β The manager/ owner fitted us in even though he had a full house. Clearly we had picked a great restaurant for our departure meal. Excellent food and a traditional menu which he explained in English for me and my partner. It felt like this was a true Roman venue with only local people enjoying a traditional meal. We drank the house red, which was really good. No need to buy expensive wine to have a great time. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for real Italian food and atmosphere in Rome. 5 stars!

β β β β β Excellent food. True roman cuisine. Very large portion. We had, a very large entrΓ©e, antipasti( cured meat, cheeses, meatballs, and other delicious dishes) and a very tasty carbonara pasta. That was enough for me. The main meat dishes looked delicious.

β β β β β We stumbled upon this gem, serving fresh Roman dishes, within a space you can tell the locals frequent. The owner was so passionate and we could sense his deep love and heart for the food prepared in his restaurant, and his energy for visitors to experience a true Roman meal beyond the usual tourist hubs. Each of us selected a primi piatti off of the hand-written menu on a chalk-board, which the owner brought over to us, and read through each item in English for us, describing which part of the body a type of meat was from, or which was a classic Roman dish, and he was so charismatic in explaining everything.
The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauces were rich when they were supposed to be, and refreshing when tomato-based. The photograph I've listed shows what looks like a 'small' portion, but don't be deceived; each portion was filling, mine was on the smaller size out of everyone's, and we struggled to finish the last few mouthfuls. There is a good selection of vegetarian plates should anyone desire, and the wine selection and pairings were well informed.
We returned in the evening to try the tiramisu, and it was heavenly paired with a red-wine liquor, similar to port. Definitely go with this combination! The desert itself was everything you could hope for. Honestly a highlight for me during my stay in Italy for a week.

Fantastic restaurant with lovely staff that are passionate about real roman food and their guests, the food is rustic and delicious. I could eat here every day, haha!

β β β β β Everything we've had here has been great, from the delicious mozzarella and seafood starters (the mozzarella is some of the best we'd had this trip) to the veal and steak. The steak was flavourful but the veal was the winner and as a typical Roman dish is what I'd definitely recommend.

β β β β β Fantastic place frequented by locals. The place gets full fast but we were the only foreigners - a great sign.
Menu changes every day. Everything we had was outstanding and truly memorable, we had to come again for more: mushroom risotto had best porcini mushrooms I've ever had (and I eat a lot of risotto). Slowly baked veal and beef were so tender we didn't need a knife. Risotto with truffles was something special and had a LOT of truffles.
On top of that food, the service was really nice: our waiter made extra effort to make sure we felt really welcome. He even remembered my allergies (gluten) two days after our first visit! We will remember this place for a long time.
