β β β β β Have eaten there 2 days ago based on the reviews. The rating is not more than 3.5 as the starter plate with salami was rather average (the pickled veggies were excellent), the recommended tortelli on the same non-exciting level and the fegato (calf liver) uninspiring and tasteless, thrown into the sauce for boiling. Nothing great, had definitely better food in other places.

β β β β β The sausage risotto was to die for. We also enjoyed the spalla, tortelli, and a local white Garda Colli Mantovani DOC blend, it was perfect. Would definitely return.

β β β β β La Bottega is a charming restaurant a little outside the centre of Mantova. Just a little. It is at 5 minutes walking of SantβAndrea, but in a calmer part of the city. You can sit either in- or outside. Inside you find yourself in a wonderfully nice and traditionally looking space, while outside you sit in a charming Italian alley, with cosy lighting. The service is very good, they are very friendly, and the food is wonderful. Whether you take pizza, pasta, meat or an ovendish, the food is always great!

β β β β β Very atmospheric guest room with a lot of nice detail. Pleasant service, polite and casual. The menu card offers a large selection of traditional and regional specialities as well as pizza. We came there several times and each meal was delicious and fully satisfying.

β β β β β Worth hunting down as it's in a quiet alley. We enjoyed a lovely Risotto for two that would probably have easily fed 4 as a starter. We both had meat that was cooked to perfection and high quality Scottona beef. Generous portions, reasonable prices and very friendly staff. Pity they don't have Sprite ?

β β β β β So we we're actually looking for something more typical for the zone and less touristic.
And luckily we found few people who recommended the same place. Well the locls not considering this place in the city center because its about 7 minutes walking from there but completely worth it.
So the restuarant itself is very nice and very warm, and they have 3 levels so plenty of room.
The service was really great, we had a waiter who explained about every dish. Important to point out that everything we tried was so good, in particular my favorite was "spalla cotta al lambrusco ". Check the photos.
The range of prices for the most part is very fair, and the portions are definitely decent.
Later on just before we finished we had a little talk with the owner of the place, and he explained that for almost all things they serve its home made. What would help explain the excellent taste!
Place very nice, with AC, great wine and great service. Would definitely recommend!

β β β β β The best burrata ever that I have eaten !! I love the plats which are simple and delicious. This restaurant offers exactly the kind of cuisine I am in search of in Italy. When we try to eat locally and put some passion in the cuisine, we will nerve be disappointed!
