β β β β β The food was nice but the place lacked an ambience and was quite touristy. The annoying part is that they autoatically gave us the mixed language menu in protective sheet covers whereas the locals got the nicely printed menu colour matched with the place settings. And I speak Italian! But the food was good and the service was Ok.
I really thought that by going a little further away from the centre that this would be more local and less touristy, but it is not. Just so that I can set your expectations!

β β β β β Peccati di gola is the starter and is totally worthed to try ( we were in four, you get soft polenta, still warm, so that you can mix in it some lard and it's very tasty! Plus a mix of salami etc) you have to be at least in two to get the risotto, perfectly well cooked. The whole place is nice, informal but well kept

β β β β β THE BEST experience in Mantova. Recommended by the accomodation, superb local food and wine, in addition to atmosphere second to none. Try meats (donkey, rabbit, steak). Reservation recommended.

β β β β β Great experience: food was delicious, good quality of the produce and full of taste! Customer service was just perfect! We had fun and enjoy the dinner very much. Also suitable for vegetarian (tortelli with zucca and pear mustard were a stunning surprise!).
