★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice surprise, and by far the best treatment we have in Italy. We come from Amalfi coast for 10 days and we were needing a nice experience and good food. Well, we found it here for half price of all previous ones. So if you are looking for honest and typical Italian food, this is the place.
We order polette to share and 2 more pastas, genovese and siciliana. The genovese is a must, with caramel onions. In the end we took a ricotta and pear tart. It’s amazing

It can get really busy so book a table.
The staff doesn't really speak English but they're really nice and friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Osteria della Mattonella serves up delicious, traditional dishes: their polpette al sugo (meatballs in sauce) as well as the polpo alla luciana (slow cooked octopus in tomato, caper and olive sauce) were fantastic!
The service however, was a bit slow and the side dishes were served up cold, which was not very pleasant. Sadly, they also did not have the ricotta and pear cake we were craving to try after reading about it from the other reviews.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious restaurant with nice staff and a cute setting. Would really recommend! The spaghetti puttanesca was really good and so was the pasta genovese. It is reasonably priced and not very touristy which is great. Seating is cosy, but there is downstairs seating as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great and authentic restaurant in the center of old Naples. The owner and her daughter are very sweet and they've been so nice to us and our dog. We've been treated really well and we had some fantastic local dishes. Recommended.
