★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went there recently for my boyfriend's birthday and had a great experience. Food&wine were elegant and delicious, the service exceptional and the view of the vineyards from inside the restaurant breathtaking. You should totally give it a go!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful setting amongst the Bolgheri vineyards, a very capable kitchen and a diverse (if Antinori-leaning, for obvious reasons) wine list means that reservations need to be made in advance - as reflected by some undeserved poor reviews. Book a table for lunch or dinner and you won’t be disappointed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location Tenuta Guado al Tasso is amazing and the restaurant architecture/décor is impressive. Five stars are definitely well earned. Wrt food, I shave off a point or two: 3-4 stars. I would think that there are little touches that are required to lift the restaurant to an even higher level. Consider in this vein the side dish of vegetables... a small side plate with dry, grilled vegetables (no herbs, spices...) - definitely disappointing for vegetarians. A dish of ice cream ? comprised 3 unadorned scoops... I would have expected more culinary fuss even for a simple ice cream! No gripes though regarding the delicious cannellini soup. Meat dishes as chosen by my table companions were agreeably tender and appreciated.
