Ci siamo imbattuti nel locale per puro caso e vista l'ora (erano le 14:00 passate) e la fame siamo entrati senza pensarci. Il locale era quasi pieno e non avevamo prenotato, nonostante ciò ci hanno trovato subito una sistemazione, anche se ci siamo dovuti dividere: eravamo in otto e abbiamo fatto due tavoli da quattro. La ragazza che ci ha serviti è stata gentilissima e molto paziente, ci ha consigliato i piatti migliori e ha risposto a tutte le nostre domande su i vari piatti. Ci ha portato subito i menù, il cestino del pane e l'acqua. Il pane integrale era spettacolare: fette spesse, fragranti, crosta croccante e mollica soffice. Le portate sono arrivate rapidamente, era tutto eccellente e le portate erano abbondanti. Abbiamo ordinato: bruschette con pomodorini e funghi, arrosticini, insalata mista, patate al forno, pizze fritte, semplici e con crudo e due primi, chitarrina all'abruzzese con zucchine, guanciale e zafferano (si può richiedere anche la versione vegetariana senza guanciale) e maltagliati semintegrali al Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. Abbiamo speso meno di 20 euro a testa quindi ottimo rapporto qualità- prezzo. Ci torneremo sicuramente!
We came across the place by chance and given the time (it was past 14:00) and hunger we entered without thinking. The place was almost full and we hadn't booked, despite this they immediately found us accommodation, even if we had to split up: there were eight of us and we had two tables of four. The girl who served us was very kind and very patient, she recommended the best dishes and answered all our questions about the various dishes. He immediately brought us the menus, the bread basket and the water. The wholemeal bread was spectacular: thick, fragrant slices, crunchy crust and soft crumb. The courses came quickly, everything was excellent and the courses were generous. We ordered: bruschetta with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms, kebabs, mixed salad, baked potatoes, fried pizzas, simple and with raw and two first courses, Abruzzo chitarrina with zucchini, bacon and saffron (you can also request the vegetarian version without bacon) and semi-integral maltagliati in Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. We spent less than 20 euros each so it was excellent value for money. We will definitely be back!

Diciamolo subito: 4 stelle sulla fiducia, perché una sola volta non basta per dare un giudizio più oggettivo. Il nome Osteria non è messo lì perché fa "figo" ma perché rispecchia la cucina del posto: cucina tipica , che rispecchia la tradizione con qualche piatto innovativo. Locale grande e moderno, bel bancone con carne a vista, ottima proposta vini. Abbiamo assaggiato solo 3 antipasti (pizza fritta con prosciutto, coratella e trippa) e 2 primi (carbonara e raviolone al pomodoro e basilico). Antipasti buoni e abbondanti, i primi abbondanti ma, a mio parere, si possono decisamente migliorabili. Il condimento non esalta l'ottimo sapore del raviolone ricotta e spinaci, la montagna di pomodoro pelato a pezzettoni darà anche colore al piatto, ma non va oltre. La carbonara, che dire: se mi chiedessero la riordineresti? Risponderei di no. Porzione abbondante e buona cottura della pasta, ma condimento che non rispecchia le mia aspettative. Ci torneresti? Si, per l'ottimo servizio al tavolo e provare un po' di quella carne che sembrava veramente interessante.

The name Osteria is not put there because it is "cool" but because it reflects the local cuisine: typical cuisine, which reflects tradition with some innovative dishes. Large and modern place, nice bar with meat on sight, excellent wine proposal. We tasted only 3 appetizers (fried pizza with ham, coratella and tripe) and 2 first courses (carbonara and raviolone with tomato and basil). Good and abundant appetizers, the first abundant but, in my opinion, they can definitely be improved. The dressing does not enhance the excellent flavor of the ricotta and spinach raviolone, the mountain of peeled tomatoes in chunks will also give color to the dish, but it does not go further. The carbonara, what about: if asked me would you rearrange it? I would answer no. Large portion and good cooking of the pasta, but a sauce that does not meet my expectations. Would you stay there again? Yes, for the great table service and trying some of that meat that looked really interesting.

It is a brand new place that seems more a restaurant than a tavern (osteria). It is located in the centre of L'Aquila in the same building of the hotel Centrale. The inside of the osteria is modern and beautiful, with open kitchen. We tried some pizzas that were good an made with a particularly light batter. It is the only place where we can eat more than one pizza each. They offer a very good handmade ice-cream as dessert, which is made by a famous ice-cream parlour of L'Aquila (Duomo). From our point of view there are only two problems: the service is slow and it is a bit expensive. That's the reason for three stars.
