Disorganization, approximation and little education and respect for patients and relatives. Indecent accommodation of the sick in the emergency room, with overcrowded rooms (the observation room would seem, from the booths, approved for four, but cram up to 14 patients on a stretcher) and the patients on a stretcher are left in the corridor to "enjoy" drafts and current.

Lasciate ogni speranza voi che entrate! Spero tanto che lo chiudano definitivamente! Ho avuto diverse esperienze, tutte negative! Viene assistito prima di me!
Leave all hope you who enter! I really hope they close it permanently! I have had several experiences, all of them negative! If 118 opts for this place, stay at home! I only say the first three experiences, the first in 2015 I wait 5 hours for the dressing of the finger, a certain G.Aiello comes after me, contacts the absent doctor on the phone to get a medical certificate for the 7-day work exemption , as he has a fractured leg, he walks like a beauty. He is witnessed before me! The second experience in 2016, my mother taken ill is brought here. After two hours of waiting they check her, the doctor would like to do the ultrasound, nothing works! So he borrowed a portable ultrasound machine owned by his colleague, while he visits my semi-conscious mother talking about the holidays. Third, in May 2021 in the middle of the pandemic, a doctor with celestine glasses like a hipster, lets me into the room after waiting two hours in the atrium of the garrison, piled with 30 other people on the list on a piece of paper. Look at the ministerial documentation and the printed online booking and he gets angry, he asks me for the signed GP's certificate, which I don't have. But I came to make any vaccine! He doesn't care and kicks me out! Denying the patient treatment by driving him out is truly an unworthy act!

My mother was rushed to hospital with 118, severe pain in the chest. She came in, semi-conscious at 10:30 in the morning and left at 11:30 in the night. The first blood test was done at 4:00 pm. She waited all the time sitting in the entrance hall, the second EKG analysis she never did, she resigned in desperation. I HOPE SO MUCH THE SAME THING HAPPENS TO YOUR MOTHER!

I was taken by ambulance to the emergency department here with a possible fractured leg. I was left outside in the ambulance with the door open as night fell and it got colder and colder. Eventually a nurse came and did a Covid test. After about another half an hour I was wheeled into the foyer of the emergency room. I was "parked", still on the ambulance stretcher near the doorway. The doors were left open and it got really cold. Eventually I managed to get the attention of the security guard and asked for a blanket. He very kindly went and got me an aluminium sheet which helped. After a couple of hours there I was taken into the triage room, where my details were taken and I was returned to the cold spot by the open doors. Another couple of hours later I was taken to see the doctor, who prescribed a pain killer and Xray. These were done within an hour and then I waited to see the doctor for the result. There was no fracture but I had a very bruised leg and haematoma and was told to go home - by taxi- and come back the next day to the orthopaedic clinic. The problem with this hospital is that general information and signs are lacking. There is no reception desk in emergency, and I saw the next day that the only way to get any attention was to bang on the door until someone came out. I ended up spending nearly 2 hours here just trying to get the report from the night before which would authorise me to see the orthopaedic doctor. Fortunately a friend came with me to battle for the document, as I was unable to stand up for very long. Then, the problem was to find the orthopaedic department. There are no signs and we proceeded by asking people. It is only possible to get there by going outside the hospital. Still no signs, but by some miracle we eventually arrived in the right department. It did not seem to have any reception either, but a nurse walking past told us where to sit and very soon I saw the doctor. The doctor was Dr Puleo, and his kindness and professional manner made up for all the hours of waiting about. I immediately felt in very good hands. I was in Palermo for a weeks holiday. However, if I ever had to visit an orthopaedic surgeon there again, I would go to Dr Puleo without hesitation. The hospital is dilapidated and understaffed. I would estimate that they need at least twice the staff to cope properly. However those staff that I came into contact with were all kind and caring.
