 Calimera (Καλημέρα, Kalimèra in griko "good morning in Italian") is an Italian town of 7,071 inhabitants in the province of Lecce in Puglia.
It rises in central Salento and is 16 km from the provincial capital. It belongs to the historic region of Grecìa Salentina, a linguistic island of eleven municipalities in which an ancient language of Greek origin is spoken, the griko. An ancient country, it is the leader of the eleven belonging to the Salento Greece. Very quiet, well maintained and interesting to visit.
